Your NADA Booth Is Booked. Now, How Are You Going to Get Dealers to Visit?
By Ian Nethercott, Co-Host, AutoHubShow and AutoHubShow Media Group
Every year, automotive vendors invest an enormous amount of money preparing for NADA. Booth space, displays, hotels, flights, staffing, entertainment, and all the other expenses add up quickly. For many companies, NADA represents one of their largest marketing investments of the year.
And yet, after spending all that money, I still see companies relying on the same strategy: build an impressive booth, bring the sales team, and hope the right dealers stop by.
There's nothing wrong with having a great booth. But here's something Peter Martin and I have talked about many times on AutoHubShow.
Getting to NADA is only half the battle. Getting the right dealers to your booth is where the real opportunity begins.
NADA 2027 in Orlando presents an incredible opportunity for companies that prepare properly. But with so many exhibitors competing for attention, simply being on the show floor isn't enough anymore.
Dealers have limited time. They're attending workshops, meeting with existing vendors, evaluating new technologies, reconnecting with industry colleagues, and trying to make the most of a very busy schedule.
The question isn't whether dealers will be attending NADA.
The question is whether your company will be one of the businesses they make time to visit.
That's where a coordinated marketing strategy can make all the difference.
The Most Important Part of NADA Marketing Happens Before the Show
One of the biggest mistakes I see exhibitors make is waiting until the final week before NADA to start promoting their booth.
By then, many dealership executives have already scheduled meetings and decided which companies they want to visit.
If you want to be on their calendar, you need to give them a reason to put you there before they arrive in Orlando.
At AutoHubShow Media Group, powered by Cactus Sky Digital, we've developed a comprehensive approach to NADA marketing that starts months before the event.
Through our targeted automotive email programs, we can reach dealership decision-makers based on their job responsibilities, OEM affiliations, dealer groups, geographic markets, and previous event participation.
Our available automotive audience includes more than 90,000 dealership decision-makers, along with historical NADA attendee records covering the past five years.
But it's not simply about having a large database. It's about reaching the right people with a message that gives them a compelling reason to act.
For example, if you're introducing a fixed operations solution, why spend your marketing dollars reaching people who have little involvement in service operations? Wouldn't you rather reach fixed operations directors, service managers, and dealer principals who can actually benefit from what you're offering?
That's the advantage of targeted marketing.
Our NADA pre-show campaigns can include professionally developed emails, compelling creative, appointment scheduling links, landing pages, and follow-up communications designed to turn interest into actual meetings.
And here's something I always remind exhibitors.
Don't make your email about the fact that you're exhibiting at NADA. Make it about why a dealer should care.
Are you launching something new? Can your solution improve service retention, reduce operating expenses, generate more appointments, or improve dealership profitability?
Lead with that message.
Give dealers a reason to visit, and make scheduling an appointment as easy as possible.
Our Secret Sauce: Reaching the People Actually Attending NADA
Here's where things get particularly interesting.
Most automotive marketing companies can send an email to a list of dealerships. That's not especially difficult.
But what if you could identify and reach the people who are actually registered to attend NADA?
Peter and the Cactus Sky team have developed a database-matching process that helps us do exactly that.
For NADA 2026 in Las Vegas, we identified valid email addresses for more than 4,000 registered attendees.
That's an important distinction.
We're not simply emailing thousands of automotive contacts and hoping some of them happen to be attending the convention.
We're using our database intelligence to build a more relevant audience around the people attending the event.
Of course, we don't claim that every message reaches every attendee or that every recipient will visit a booth. But being able to focus marketing on identified attendees gives exhibitors a far more relevant starting point.
And if you're wondering how we do it, you'll have to give Peter or me a call.
We don't give away all our secrets!
What I will say is that this capability has become one of the most valuable elements of our NADA marketing programs.
Be One of NADA's Must-See Booths for Just $750 a Day
One of the programs I'm most excited about for Orlando is our NADA Must-See Booths campaign.
Here's the concept.
Every morning during the four days of NADA, between 7:30 and 9:00 AM, participating exhibitors are featured in a targeted email designed to reach attendees as they're planning their day.
Think about when that message arrives.
Dealers are having breakfast, checking emails, reviewing appointments, and deciding how they'll spend their time on the exhibit floor.
That's precisely when you want your company in front of them.
Instead of relying entirely on people walking past your booth, you're giving attendees a reason to put your company on their schedule.
Each participating exhibitor can promote its company name, booth number, product or service, demonstrations, special offers, executive meetings, or other reasons to visit.
And we can change the message each day.
Maybe the first day you introduce your company. On the second day, you highlight a new product. On the third, you promote a demonstration or customer success story. And on the final day, you give attendees one last reason to stop by.
Four days. Four opportunities to reach attendees while they're at the show.
We're limiting the program to just 24 exhibitors because we want participating companies to stand out rather than disappear into another crowded directory.
And the investment?
Just $3,000 for all four days. That's only $750 per day.
When you consider what companies are already investing to exhibit at NADA, this is one of the most cost-effective ways we offer to help promote a booth during the convention.
It's a straightforward way to complement your larger marketing investment with timely, targeted attendee exposure.
Don't Just Promote Your Booth. Promote Your Expertise.
Here's another opportunity that I believe far too many exhibitors overlook.
Dealers don't necessarily want another sales pitch. They want information that can help them operate more profitable dealerships.
That's why educational content, executive interviews, and thought leadership can be so effective.
Through AutoHubShow, we can interview your executives, discuss the challenges your company solves, highlight new products, and create content that helps dealership decision-makers understand why they should meet with you.
And we're not talking about creating one video and hoping people find it.
An executive interview can become the foundation for an entire marketing campaign.
We can develop short video clips, LinkedIn posts, website articles, eNewsletter features, dealer email campaigns, and additional social content from that original conversation.
That's the concept behind our AutoHubShow Growth System.
Create valuable content once, then use it across multiple marketing channels to generate repeated exposure.
Imagine a dealership executive seeing your company in a targeted email, reading an article from your CEO, watching a short interview on LinkedIn, and then seeing your booth featured in our Must-See Booths email.
By the time that executive walks onto the exhibit floor, your company is no longer a complete stranger.
And that's a much stronger position to be in.
Your Customers May Be Your Best NADA Salespeople
If there's one thing I've learned from years of interviewing automotive executives, it's that dealer-to-dealer credibility is incredibly valuable.
Vendors can explain how wonderful their technology is all day long.
But when an actual dealer explains how a product improved their business, the message often carries considerably more weight.
That's why we're expanding our NADA video and interview programs to include customer testimonials recorded right at exhibitors' booths.
Think about the opportunity.
You already have customers attending NADA. Why not invite several of them to your booth and let us interview them about their experiences?
We can ask about the challenges they faced, why they selected your solution, what changed after implementation, and what advice they'd offer other dealers.
Those conversations can become powerful marketing assets.
A testimonial recorded at NADA can support your website, sales presentations, social media, targeted emails, and future dealer marketing campaigns.
And because we're conducting the interviews at your booth, we're also creating another reason for your existing customers to visit and engage with your team.
Our NADA media offerings include executive interviews, booth spotlights, customer testimonial programs, and more comprehensive on-site video coverage.
NADA shouldn't just be a place where you meet potential customers. It should also be a place where you create marketing content that helps you sell long after the convention ends.
Use the Weekly eNewsletter to Build Recognition Before Orlando
One of the most significant additions to AutoHubShow this year has been our weekly automotive industry eNewsletter.
We now distribute industry content to more than 90,000 automotive contacts, giving companies another opportunity to stay visible with dealership professionals.
This is particularly valuable for NADA exhibitors because it allows them to start building recognition well before the event.
Imagine publishing an article about a major dealership challenge and explaining how your company is addressing it.
The following week, dealers might see an interview with your leadership team. Later, they could receive an announcement about a new product you're introducing at NADA.
Then, when the convention arrives, they're already familiar with your company.
That's the value of consistent exposure.
Our eNewsletter programs include sponsorship opportunities, featured company articles, executive insights, and promotion of AutoHubShow interviews.
When combined with targeted email and social media, the newsletter becomes another important part of a coordinated NADA marketing campaign.
Turn Your Workshop or Speaking Session Into a Booth Traffic Opportunity
If someone from your company is speaking at NADA, you've already been given a tremendous marketing opportunity.
But don't assume people will discover your session simply because it's listed in the convention agenda.
Promote it.
We've worked with automotive companies to help build attendance for educational sessions, including successful workshop promotion campaigns.
A speaking opportunity allows you to demonstrate expertise, introduce important industry ideas, and connect with dealership professionals who are interested in the problems your company solves.
Our team can help with presentation positioning, promotional email campaigns, LinkedIn content, executive interviews, video invitations, and landing pages.
And the strategy shouldn't end when the workshop concludes.
Give attendees a compelling reason to continue the conversation at your booth.
Maybe you're offering a deeper product demonstration, a personalized assessment, or an opportunity to meet the speaker.
The workshop establishes credibility. The booth visit gives your team an opportunity to develop the relationship.
Give Dealers a Reason to Visit Beyond a Product Demonstration
Here's something worth considering.
Not every dealer wants to spend 30 minutes watching a software demonstration.
Sometimes, you need a more compelling reason to start the conversation.
That could be an exclusive show offer, a VIP experience, a special presentation, a customer event, or access to a company executive.
For example, a vendor hosting a customer appreciation reception could use the event to encourage qualified dealers to schedule demonstrations before receiving VIP access.
The important thing is to create a logical connection between the promotion and your business objective.
At AutoHubShow and Cactus Sky, we can help promote these experiences through targeted email, landing pages, registration campaigns, LinkedIn, video invitations, and follow-up communications.
A well-planned event can become much more than entertainment. It can create a structured opportunity to meet prospective customers and strengthen existing relationships.
Make Sure Your Booth Marketing Includes a Clear Path to Conversion
Let's talk about something that often gets overlooked.
You can have the best advertising in the world, but if there's no clear next step, you're making it difficult for interested dealers to engage.
Every NADA campaign should have a specific objective.
Do you want the dealer to schedule a demonstration? Register for a VIP event? Request an assessment? Visit a landing page? Meet with an executive?
Make that action obvious.
Our marketing programs can include custom landing pages, registration forms, meeting scheduler links, campaign analytics, and follow-up sequences.
And if someone engages with your marketing before the show but doesn't schedule a meeting, that shouldn't be the end of the conversation.
With appropriate permissions and compliance controls, you can continue reaching interested prospects with relevant follow-up messages.
This is where coordinated marketing makes a difference.
Instead of running disconnected campaigns, you create a process that moves a prospect from initial awareness to engagement, appointment, and eventually a business conversation.
Don't Forget About LinkedIn and Social Media
NADA generates an enormous amount of industry conversation.
Your executives should be part of it.
Leading up to the show, your leadership team can share industry insights, discuss important dealership challenges, introduce new solutions, and invite people to visit your booth.
At AutoHubShow, we can help develop executive thought leadership and LinkedIn content that supports your broader NADA marketing strategy.
And when you combine those posts with interviews, short videos, educational articles, and targeted email, the effect can be much stronger than any individual marketing channel on its own.
The goal is consistency.
Dealers should see your company providing useful information before NADA, participating in important conversations during the show, and continuing to share valuable insights afterward.
NADA Doesn't End When the Exhibit Hall Closes
This may be the biggest missed opportunity of all.
Companies spend months preparing for NADA, four days meeting with dealers, and then return home to hundreds of business cards, scanned badges, and notes that need attention.
And what happens next?
In too many cases, follow-up gets delayed while everyone catches up on their regular responsibilities.
Meanwhile, the dealer who was interested in your product has returned to the dealership and is dealing with the same daily challenges that existed before NADA.
That's why post-show marketing should be planned before the convention begins.
Our team can develop targeted follow-up campaigns for booth visitors, demonstration attendees, prospects who engaged with pre-show marketing, and customers who participated in interviews or events.
Those campaigns can include personalized thank-you messages, educational content, product demonstrations, customer testimonials, and invitations to schedule additional meetings.
We can also continue distributing the videos, articles, and interviews created during NADA through our website, eNewsletter, email, and social media channels.
The goal is to make the four days at NADA generate opportunities for weeks and months afterward.
What Makes AutoHubShow Different?
Peter and I have been involved in the automotive industry for a long time, and we've seen firsthand how much the marketing landscape has changed.
A podcast interview can create awareness. A LinkedIn campaign can build recognition. A targeted email can generate engagement. A great testimonial can establish credibility.
But the real opportunity comes when you bring those elements together.
That's what we've built with AutoHubShow Media Group and Cactus Sky Digital.
We combine automotive media, industry relationships, professional content production, targeted dealership databases, email marketing, video, social media, and event promotion into one coordinated offering.
And our involvement as a media partner with the sold-out CXAUTO and Automotive News Congress events in Detroit has reinforced just how valuable an integrated approach to event promotion can be.
We're not simply interested in getting your company more impressions.
We want to help you reach the right dealership decision-makers, give them a reason to engage, and create opportunities for your sales team.
Whether you need a comprehensive campaign beginning months before NADA or a focused, affordable program to promote your booth during the show, we have options designed around different objectives and budgets.
Final Thoughts: Don't Leave Your NADA Investment to Chance
If you're exhibiting at NADA 2027, here's the question I'd encourage you to ask your team.
We've committed the money to be there. What are we doing to make sure the right dealers know why they should visit us?
A great booth is important. A strong sales team is essential. But neither replaces the need for an effective marketing strategy.
Start early. Reach the right audience. Build credibility. Give dealers a compelling reason to visit. Capture the opportunity. And follow up after the show.
That's how you turn NADA from a four-day expense into a much longer-term business development opportunity.
Peter and I would welcome the opportunity to discuss what you're planning for Orlando and share some ideas about how we can help.
And if you're interested in our NADA Must-See Booths campaign, remember that we're limiting participation to just 24 exhibitors, with all four days available for only $3,000.
Don't wait for dealers to discover your booth. Give them a reason to put you on their must-see list.
