Your NADA 2027 Results Start Before You Get to Orlando

Automotive News Commentary

Every year, I see automotive companies invest heavily in NADA. They book the booth, arrange travel, build the display, bring the sales team and prepare the product demo.

Then they wait for the right dealer to walk by.

That is a lot to leave to chance.

NADA Show 2027 takes place February 17–20 in Orlando, with the Expo open February 18–20 at the Orange County Convention Center. It brings dealership and industry leaders together to explore ideas, technology and business opportunities. For vendors, that creates an opening. It also means competing for attention with many other companies that have come to tell their stories.

The question I would ask every exhibitor is simple: When a dealer sees your booth, will they already know who you are and why they should care?

Start with the dealership problem

Dealers are busy. They are balancing profitability, staffing, customer experience, fixed operations and a long list of technology decisions. They do not have time to decode a clever slogan while walking the Expo floor.

Before you promote a booth number, get clear on three things:

  1. Which dealership leaders need your solution?
  2. What problem are they trying to solve?
  3. What evidence shows you can help?

A fixed operations director and a marketing director may both benefit from your product, but they will ask different questions. The right marketing starts with the person you need to reach and the outcome that matters to that person.

That is why exposure alone is not enough. A large audience can create awareness. Relevant exposure, paired with a useful message, creates a reason to have a conversation.

Give dealers a reason to recognize you before the show

The strongest NADA conversations often begin weeks or months before anyone reaches Orlando.

A targeted email can introduce a dealership challenge. An article can explain your approach. An executive interview can let dealers hear how you think. A customer story can show what happened when a dealership put your solution to work. A short video can demonstrate the product far more clearly than a booth headline.

Each piece should help answer a real question. What does this solve? How would it fit into my operation? What results should I reasonably expect? What should I ask when we meet?

AutoHubShow’s NADA programs connect these tools through pre-show email, media interviews, video, social content, landing pages and meeting calls to action. The goal is to build recognition and interest before dealers finalize their show schedules.

When a prospect arrives already familiar with your company, your team can spend less time on the basic introduction and more time learning whether there is a fit.

Make every booth visit count

Once the show begins, your message needs to become timely and specific.

“Visit us at NADA” gives a dealer very little to act on. “See a five-minute demonstration of how we identify missed service revenue” tells the right person what they will gain from stopping by.

Use your daily email, social posts and show-floor messaging to point to something concrete: a demonstration, an executive conversation, a customer interview or a scheduled meeting. Make the booth location and next step easy to find. AutoHubShow offers daily booth promotion and on-site coverage to help companies connect that message with activity at the show.

Your booth team needs the same clarity. If marketing promises one conversation and the staff delivers another, you lose the advantage you worked to create.

Capture proof while everyone is together

NADA gives you access to something that is difficult to arrange during an ordinary workweek: your executives, customers, partners and dealership prospects may all be in the same place.

Use that opportunity. Record a product demonstration. Interview a customer about the problem they faced, how they implemented the solution and what changed. Ask an executive to explain an industry issue in plain language. Capture the questions dealers ask most often.

A vendor can describe its own value all day. Hearing a dealer explain an actual experience often makes the message more credible. AutoHubShow’s on-site options include executive interviews, booth features, customer testimonials and dedicated video production, with content intended for use after the event as well.

Plan the follow-up before you pack for Orlando

I have seen too many companies treat the end of a trade show as the end of the campaign. The team returns home with business cards and good intentions. A week passes. Then two. The conversations get colder.

Decide in advance what happens after each type of interaction. A dealer who requested a demo needs a different follow-up from someone who watched an interview or stopped briefly at the booth. Give your sales team the notes, content and next step they need to continue each conversation.

Measure more than booth traffic. Look at meetings booked, the roles of the people you met, qualified opportunities created and the progress of those opportunities after the show. Those measures will tell you far more about your NADA investment than a stack of badge scans.

Build a campaign around the whole opportunity

The right tools work together. Targeted outreach helps the right dealers discover you. Useful content gives them a reason to pay attention. A clear invitation brings them to a meeting or demonstration. Video and customer proof keep working when the Expo closes. Thoughtful follow-up turns interest into a business conversation.

That is the way I would prepare for NADA 2027.

You are already investing to be in Orlando. Give the people you want to meet a reason to know your name before they arrive, a reason to find you while they are there, and a reason to continue talking after they go home.
